Volunteers
A docent is a friendly person who volunteers once a month for three hours at the Museum and answers our visitors questions. If you can smile, you can be a docent.
Training and historical information is provided to all interested in becoming docents. You will meet friendly people from around the world.
You'll work with two other experienced docents as you explore the museum and find things of special interest to you that you want to tell the visitors about.
If docenting is not your style, we also need volunteers at the Annex, handy people to do repairs, folks to care for our landscape, and other jobs too keep us going.
If you are interested, stop in, or call the Museum, 760-376-6683, say you're interested in learning how to be a docent or want to be a volunteer.
Leave your name and phone number and we'll contact you.
"I enjoy volunteering at the museum which is filled with wonderful historical treasures. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of great visitors! "
